2010 Guernsey County Courthouse Christmas Lights and Music Show
When the switch is thrown on this year’s Guernsey County Courthouse
holiday lights and music show, onlookers will witness seasonal illumination amplified
to a new scale never before seen in the local area.
The historic centerpiece of Downtown Cambridge comes alive with literally
thousands of colorful lights, synchronized to both traditional and
contemporary holiday musical favorites.
The Courthouse lends its magnificent 1881 design to a
intricately-choreographed 21st Century eyefest consisting of more than
26,000 lights, 15,000 of which will outline the structure’s unique
architectural details. Thirty-nine animated displays complete the
holiday spectacle.
The Guernsey County Commissioners, the
Cambridge/Guernsey County Visitors and Convention Bureau, the Cambridge
Main Street Program, the
Dickens Victorian Village and AVC
Communications have expressed their pride in this extraordinary
enhancement of what has become a local tradition.

4 different shows for the 2010 Christmas Season!
AVC designed the display, creating four different 12-minute shows that
will play throughout the holiday season. Each presentation makes use of
more than 430 electrical circuits, each computer controlled in
tenths-of-a-second increments and painstakingly synchronized to a
holiday soundtrack. This year there will also be more new & contemporary music, including
kids favorites and spectacular new animated display's on top of
and on the front of the courthouse.
At the top of each hour the show will begin with a show featuring children's Christmas favorites. One song in the show is actual sung by Cambridge area 5th graders! At 15 minutes past the hour a show featuring traditional Christmas favorites will play. At 30 minutes past the hour is the contemporary Christmas music show featuring the well known local saxophonist Gordon Hough. That show is followed by the modern Christmas music show at 45 minutes past the hour. This show is considered the crowd favorite.

SPECIAL NOTE: December 24th through the 25th and again December 31st and January 1st, the show will continue until 11pm.In between these “performances”, the Courthouse will return to the simple elegance of having its unique design outlined from top to bottom in continuous, white lights.
