The “Realizing the Dream...YMCA Capital Campaign for Kids

A Capital Priority began in earnest on June 15, 2006. Total cost for the project, including Aquatics Complex: $5.4 million.

The Goal: To build a new YMCA Family Center in this part of Southeastern Ohio.

The Location: 1301 Clairmont Avenue, Cambridge, OH on the site of the former Cambridge High School.

The YMCA Capital Campaign for Kids is well on its way to meeting its goal of building a new Family Center. Larry Caldwell and Bob Dix, Co-Chairs of the Lead Gift Committee, have reported that the campaign has pledges and cash in hand of just over 2 million dollars. Phase One will provide a fully functioning YMCA Family Center, including a children's activity center, community youth center, fitness center, computer lab, sports activity center, locker rooms and community meeting rooms. $2.5 million is required to complete this Phase.

Construction on Phase Two, which will house an Aquatic Center, including a competition-length pool and a therapy pool, as well as a racquetball court will begin when funding is in place. Cost of Phase Two includes endowment goals to support pool maintenance.

Your help is needed now more than ever! Many grants are conditional, based on percentages of members and support and estimates of community support, civic and fraternal organizational support, and the number of private individuals making a pledge at any level of the campaign.

For more detailed information about the campaign download and view our campaign booklet, or call our Development Office at 432-5400 to schedule a tour and presentation.
