BYESVILLE, Ohio -- A teenager accused of stealing a number of ATV's was allegedly caught on Wednesday burglarizing a home in Byesville while on bond.
According to reports from Guernsey County Sheriff's Detectives, 18-year-old Austin Long of Byesville had his bond revoked after being caught in a home on Walnut Street. A male resident returned to his house at around 7:00 a.m. and reportedly found the suspect in the process of burglarizing his home. Long fled the premises; however, he had been a step-son of his intended victim from a previous marriage, and was identified by the resident as the perpetrator.
Deputies found and arrested Long, without incident, a short time later. Long was out on bond after being charged with receiving stolen property in Cambridge Municipal Court on August 24 following a number of reported ATV thefts in Jackson Township. He is, once again, in custody in the Guernsey County Jail.
Detectives say they will submit burglary charges to the grand jury for possible indictment regarding this latest incident.
