GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio -- After four months of investigation, two Guernsey County residents were arrested on Wednesday in connection with drug-related activity.
According to Guernsey County Sheriff Mike McCauley, the 24-year-old male and 32-year-old female were taken into custody pursuant to a traffic stop on State Route 209, south of Cambridge, on Wednesday. Both suspects are said to have lengthy criminal records.
At the same time, the Sheriff's Special Response Team (SRT) executed a search warrant at the suspects' residence in Cumberland. McCauley said that the SRT seized thousands of dollars worth of heroin, crack cocaine, Percocet, Oxycodone, and other drugs during the raid. Several firearms were seized, as well.
The pair remains in custody in the Guernsey County Jail. Detectives plan to meet with the Prosecutor on Thursday to file applicable charges.
